Biomechanics can be very dull if taught solely from a text book. One can get absorbed by countless equations to obtain velocities, torques, stresses and so forth, but the combination of interesting case study videos and live comparison software makes the driest of theories really come to life in the classroom. Students are not required to visualize often complex abstract notions because it is all exemplified with video and graphics.
Secondly, feedback is instantaneous. Shooting video footage of your own athletic activity and comparing it with case study video via the split-screen function brings an entirely new dimension of sports education into the classroom.
